Bio: John is the author of numerous articles and practice manuals. He has lectured at Continuing Education seminars throughout the United States training attorneys in various fields of law. John was elected to one term as Treasurer of the Greenville County Bar Association and one term as Chairman of the Continuing Education Committee for the Greenville County Bar Association.
He has served as pro bono attorney for indigents since entering private practice in 1972.
Civic Activities: John was appointed by the governor and served two terms as Commissioner of the Greenville County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Commission. He played in the Greenville Symphony Orchestra for seven years and served on its Board for six years, including its Executive Committee. John served as the first Chairman of the Greer Municipal Auditorium Board. He
is a founding member of the Board of the International Chamber Music Series. He
is also a founding member who served for 10 years on the Institutional Review Committee of the Greenville Hospital System
responsible for the review, approval, and supervision of all human research projects
in the Greenville Hospital System. John was also a member of the Paladin Club Athletic Board of Furman University. He
is a founding member of the Board of the Furman University Band Club. He has also been a guest lecturer at Furman University, and
has taught non-credit courses in the evening at Furman University. He authored articles concerning outdoor activities for Metro Sports magazine. John is also an avid canoe and backpacking enthusiast.
